This is a summary of the important topics discussed at the last Board meeting. Please see the minutes when posted for the official minutes.
Summary from the May 2026 Board meeting.
- Joe Hamby, the owner of Las Flores, was present to give an update on the turf removal. He discussed the fact that the rebates per square foot have gone down, that owners will get used to the new drip system providing the necessary, yet decreased water flow, to the new plants and existing trees, and that the small rocks being installed in corners are required for drainage.
- Verifix was complemented on their performance during the evacuation. They remained on the property to run patrols for as long as they could until the Sheriff deemed it unsafe and told them to leave. They arrived back on site within a couple of hours of the evacuation orders being lifted. They also attended to a volume of phone calls during the process.
- The Board requested a report from our arborist, RPW, concerning the health of our sycamore trees.
- It was reported that the Crosspointe website was experiencing slow response due to the excessive CPU usage, and that the hosting company had lowered our processing priority. The site is not on a secure server resulting in excessive spam. The Board talked about moving it to secure servers.
- The Board voted to renew the contract with our legal services company.
- It was noted that the cost of the deck renovations was approaching one million dollars. The Board will determine where to pull the additional funds from at the June meeting.
- An emergency mainline repair approved by the maintenance committee between meetings was ratified.
- The Board discussed having a special meeting to work on the budget and requested that the Reserve Study be provided to the Board in a timely manner, unlike last year when it took awhile to get.
